Have more alcohol free days

This can really help your body recover and stop your drinking from becoming too regular

Drink lower strength

Cut down the alcohol by swapping strong beers or wines for ones with a lower strength

Alternate between drinks

Swap every other alcoholic drink for a soft one – and include water too. This will help to reduce your alcohol consumption and hydrate you in the process

Keep track of your drinks

Finish one drink before pouring another, because topping up drinks makes it harder to keep track of how much you’ve had and when you planned to stop

Don’t buy alcohol in

Avoid buying beer, wine or spirits when you’re doing the weekly shop. If it’s not in the house, you won’t be as tempted to have a drink
